    Abnormal Jaw Bone Growth

My son had a periodontal work done that included donor tissue to build up the tissue along his lower gum line. Abnormal bone growth began on both sides of chin shortly after the procedure. I would like to know what caused the bone growth, but have not been able to get any answers. Could it be a side effect of an immunosupressant drug prescribed after the procedure?
