Pain in injured tooth
I fainted 2 days ago and hit my face on the stone floor. I managed to hit one of my front teeth; A&E advised me to eat a soft diet and see a dentist if it was painful in a week, but it has now become very sensitive to both hot and cold as well as getting random shooting pains through it. Is this likely to be the tooth settling and healing itself or should I be doing something about it?

Thanks :)

Re: Pain in injured tooth
I'm sorry that happened, doesn't sound like fun :(
My recommendation would be to see a dentist. In some cases the nerve inside the tooth can become inflamed from the trauma and on occasion the nerve can become infected as well. Your dentist will probably take an xray and do a couple of tests on the teeth. Hope this helps :)

oh my goodness!
Is the tooth loose at all? The heat component usually means that you need root canal. Hope you can get an appointment with your dentist this week. In the meanwhile, if you are able, take Advil for pain and potential swelling in the area.
