Has Anyone Read "The Purpose Driven Life" ?

For those of suffering from depression, I know one of the classic symptons is feelings of lack of purpose and hope. I have sure felt that way.

In the last 2 years I've gone a divorce and closing down of a business I had for 15 years, which has led to my being depressed. Without real prompting about my circumstances, several people have recommended "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. The book's purpose is to reveal our purposes in a 40 step type process.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has tried it and whether it helped them or not. Thanks for your responses..

I'm sorry to hear about your losses. I'm sure that it must be very difficult for you to cope with two major life changes simultaneously. Please don't allow yourself to get too far down. What are some of your hobbies? Perhaps you should consider investing some time in one of them in order to get your mind off of your current sadnesses and onto something enjoyable.

I haven't yet read "The Purpose Drive Life", but I would really like to. I have heard that it's a really wonderful book. I have four books out from the library at the moment, as I love to read, so I may have to wait on this one. I may just reserve it for this next week, though, as you have gotten my mind going on it again... I have read about many different life perspectives and, though I tend to be more Buddhist in my approach to life, I love to learn about almost anything and everything I can get my hands on .

I have a small version of it that I bought at WalMart, and what I have read of it, it is wonderful. I encourage you to read it, as I think it would really help you - or anyone, for that matter.
