Lexapro and Gastrointestinal Symptoms

I used Lexapro for about 18 months with excellent results (10mg per day). However, the entire time I was on this drug I had problems with terrible bowel gas (i.e., flatulence). It was so bad, my physician thought I had developed Crohn's Disease.

Late last fall she switched me to Wellbutrin XL 300mg. The gas problems immediately ceased, but I didn't like Wellbutrin at all - it made me paranoid, irritable, and an insomniac. I stopped all the antidepressant medications in January of 2005, but felt like I needed to start taking something again this past week. So, I started back on the Lexapro at 2.5mg per day. After 5 days, I am feeling better mentally, but the flatulence problem has started again!

Has anyone else had this issue? If so, did you switch to a different medication? If so, which one, and how did it work? Thanks.
