Question Celexa vs. Cymbalta

Hi all - I am new to this site so if this is a redundant post, I apologize.

I have been on AD since '93 - moving through the progression of "improved" meds as they come out. I've been on Zoloft, Celexa, Lexapro & Wellbutrin, with Wellbutrin being the only one that I have not seen positive results with. I am now on the generic Celexa again & doing ok. I have also had migraines & tension headaches since about age 8 (they run in my family as does depression). My migraines are under control with Topamax, but am still getting tension headaches. My new internist is at a loss (I've recently moved cities) & she doesn't like the amount of Fioricet I take (nor do I) so I'm now going to a neurologist - again (I had been followed by one in my previous city).

I've done tons of reading & research & I believe my increased muscle tension & headaches are at least in part related to my depression, so I'm curious about Cymbalta's efficacy. My question is this... has anyone had any experience with Cymbalta & the reduction of headaches & tension as their website indicates? I've seen some of the negatives of Cymbalta on this board - but I'm curious to see if anyone has had any long-term success with Cymbalta (more than 6 mos - 1 yr).

Thanks in advance!

Re: Celexa vs. Cymbalta

Huh how ironic this is that you posted this because I had made up my mind to post something about my headaches tonight. Well I can definately sympothize with you because I have a headache almost every day. My Doc thinks its migraines along with sinus trouble. I've thought it was sinus for years because when decongestants make me drain it relieves my headache. My doctor thinks the antidepressants is my best bet. Due to the migraines I guess. I had some relief with Paxil when I took it but couldn't handle the side effects. I've got a terrible headache right now which is why I decided to post. I hope the med helps you. I tell you these headaches are driving me crazy!!!!! Good luck
