Unhappy A.M. Depression

Anybody notice that their depression is worsr in the morning. I've noticed I feel much less depressed as the day goes on. About the first 4-5 hrs. after I get up I'm miserable and then it subsides sometimes as quickly as flicking a light switch! Anyone else experience this?

In my drug trial, they constantly ask me if I am more depressed in the morning or the night.

I always say yes

I too wake up feeling bad. Feeling disappointed that I am still alive. It takes a long time to get up and get to work, and I am late every day.

Then I can usually concentrate on work. If I am at what is now my best.

Then at night if I think about my life and situation and the past I feel worse than the morning. Until I cry myself to sleep.

I think that feeling bad in the morning is more common and a more recognized clinical symptom. So what you have seems to be very typical of depression.
But I could be wrong.
