Post I think I make myself depressed

I think I have suffered so long with this that I just dont know what to do with myself when Im feeling fine. Its like I always have to be hurting. Like its a comfort. Does anyone else feel like this?

Hello Rainy,

Sorry you're having problems but you're among friends so don't let it get you down.

Chrys always gives such wonderful advice/info, so I won't try to add anything to it......just know that I am thinking of you.

i think chrys has giving you some great feed back on this i am not sure that there is much i can add.

apart from for me my deppression is like a security blanket it is something i am sure of
>if i am sad i am sad i i am happy goodness know what may happen

its something like an old friend that you know is bad for you but its familiar so its hard to let go

it does come to a point where you realise that being happy is not actually so scarey anymore and sooner or later we will get used to the happy feeling too

hope that didnt come out as a load of nonsence

I can relate exactly! Some of my depression lifted
when they "finally" diagnosed me with diabetes. After
eating sugar free for 1 1/2 years, I have days where
I feel fine, and do not know for the life of me how
to fill those moments! My youngest is a senior and
am also experiencing the empty nest syndrome.
Some days are still tough though. It's actually
depressing for me to think that there's nothing I
want to do; nothing interesting. It's not that I
am lazy, etc., I just look around and think, now what?
I feel lost and wandering. So yeah, if I can replace
it with new behavior or attitudes, great, but so far,
it has happened a little bit, but I sink back into my rut. Actually, think it might be a
good time for a counselor or something for me. I
went to see the movie "Signs" at a $3 theater with
$1. popcorn. Had the best time of my life! Just
wish there more good movies like that and more good
times to come along more often. Just seems like the
good times are so few and far between in life!
