my boyfriend has a demanding job and was under a lot of pressure earlier this year. He is suffering from alopacia in his beard and has had trouble sleeping for months. He says hes the lowest hes every been and has taken time off work to relax, hes nor sure whats causing him to feel like this and feels guilty about everthing, he doesn't want to talk to me or see me as he wants the pain to go away and cutting evertyhing off might help. he felt so low yesterday he was sobbing on the phone. we are in a loving relationship normal (3 years) and I really want to help

Re: depression

Get him to talk to his doctor about the depression. The doctor may recommends an antidepressant. Sometimes people have to take meds for awhile to get them through tough times and then will never need them again. The doctor may also recommend a counselor/therapist that he could talk to. It sounds like he's having a very rough time and needs some help. Be there for him but try to get him to seek some help. If not a counselor then perhaps a minister or just a close friend that could help talk him through this rough time.

Good luck....
