Question Comparison chart for US and Canadian BG readings?

Can anyone give me a comparison chart?

I'm in Canada and we use readings like 5.2,etc....but I notice some people refer to readings like 118. I'm assuming that Canada and U.S. might just use different references for glucose readings. Does anyone know where I can find a comparison chart?

    Thank you so much!

    Marie

I found the Canadian information if there are any people who want to know the readings according to the canadian diabetes organization.

A1C Fasting blood glucose / blood glucose before meals (mmol/L)
Blood glucose two hours after eating
    (mmol/L)

A1C fasting bloog glucose/blood glucose before meals
Target for most diabetics 4.0 to 7.0
    Normal range 4.0-6.0

Blood glucose two hours after eating
Target for most diabetics - 5.0-10.0
    Normal range - 5.0-8.0

    Marie:

Not sure if I can put the actual URL link here or not, but if you do a Google search on "blood sugar online conversion" The first URL is to a page of conversions, and about 1/2 the way down the choices you will find a blood sugar mg/dL <--> mmol/L calculator.

To convert blood glucose mmol/l (Canadian measure) to mg/dl (US measure), you multiply by 18. So 5.2 mmol/l is 5.2x18=93.6 mg/dl.

I have found a good conversion chart on http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/converter.htm

It's easy just put the figures in and it converts both ways.
