    Borderline Fasting Glucose Level

each year for 3 years now when i go for my yearly physical the doctor says the only thing he's a little concerned about is my fasting glucose level. my results over the past 3 years: 101 99 102 101

I have always ate right and exercise (avid runner and biker, 30-60min 5-6 days a week), eat right, healthy wieght (6'3" 170 lbs), 41 yo.

Anway -- seems like this is just what i'm normally at.

    Any thoughts or comments?

    Re: Borderline Fasting Glucose Level

In recent years, they've tightened the standards for a diagnosis of "pre diabetes" to 100-125, so your fastings fall just barely within the lower end of that range. But you're already doing everything right! As long as your fasting levels don't start to go up significantly, keep on doing what you've been doing.

At some point in the future it may become more problematic, but then again...maybe it'll never get worse than this. As long as you're keeping an eye on it with fasting blood glucoses done once or twice a year, you'll be just fine.
