I went on a strict diet targeting Insulin Resistance in December 2004. My symptoms at the time included:
- very High Blood Pressure, especially at night
- Breathing Problems after consuming Carbs at night
- Breathing Problems after consuming too many Carbs during the day
- Moderately high blood sugar readings
- Fatigue
- Mental Confusion
- Unstable Heart-Beat
- etc
The worst of the symptoms, in my case, were the breathing problems.
After several months on the strict diet, I was able to consume more carbs without effecting my health. Now....... five years later, I've still got to watch the carbs, and I make sure that I eat a balanced diet of 50% carbs, 20% Proteins and 30% fats. But, I am able to eat larger portions and significantly more carbs than in 2004, and still keep my blood sugar at healthy levels; and without suffering from any nasty symptoms.
I don't think that I will ever NOT be Insulin Resistant, but at least, approaching age 70, I can eat a more normal diet without suffering.
Regards..... best of health!
