Thoughts on sugar "free" gum

i will start by freely admitting that i am nothing short of a carbohydrate "hater"

i have no qualms admitting to or agreeing with that.

that being said, ive looked in vein for carb free chewing gum. This sugar alcohol "lie" has me ticked off as there seems that there are no options

i HATE to have to intake that one carb per piece if gum. it really does bother me.

i know, i know...then dont chew Eric!....BUT, chewing seems to help me get through those times where i want to eat something

id like to hear what other diabetics have to say on this topic.

Sorry, but all I can say is "wow". To be honest with you, I think that any time you demonize any one type of food, it is a mistake. We are omnivores because that is what our bodies require. 1g of carb will not affect your glucose in any way and the act of chewing will burn more calories than are in that 1g.
