    Garlic

I find it easier to chop a garlic versus crushing it. I want to find out if chopped is as beneficial as crushed with regards to the alllicin. This is what I found (I never heard the word "cleaved"). Does this mean the same thing as chopping it? "The active compound allicin only forms when garlic is crushed or cleaved".
    Thanks!

Cleaving is the same thing as chopping.
