Re: need some help/advice
Dietary fiber is the indigestible part of plant foods and is essential for promoting and maintaining good health. So it's not just for constipation.
You can get fiber from raw vegetables as well as cooked. So making a salad will provide fiber too.
As far as cooking, I just put lots of different kinds of vegetables in a large pan. Then I put a small amount of water (about 1/4 inch) on the bottom. I put the burner on high and wait until the water starts boiling or making steam. Then I put the burner on low and let the vegetables steam for about 6 to 8 minutes.
The time varies depending on how you cut up the vegetables. Small pieces cook faster.
Do you know how to make spaghetti sauce? Do you like spaghetti sauce? One thing I have been doing lately is making spaghetti sauce and then I use it to flavor the vegetables. To me it tastes great and then there's no need to use any commercial type dressing.
