    GERD (heartburn) foods to avoid

It is recommended to avoid fried foods.

Question is - what really does that mean?

Is it the oil that's the problem? What if I fry eggs in a non-stick pan with no oil?

    Any ideas please?

You need a little oil or butter, etc to fry an egg. Have you tried poached or boiled?

Are you on a PPI or acid reducer med?

So its the oil that's the problem.
But what if I don't use oil in a non-stick pan?

You have to use something in a nonstick pan...water, broth, a touch of oil or butter or margarine.

I'm not saying it's the oil. If you have heartburn, reflux, high acid in your stomach, sometimes eating in general is uncomfortable. What else are you having with breakfast?

If you have a new or newer non-stick pan in good condition, not worn or damaged, then a small amount of oil or butter is helpful but not necessary.
