    My ongoing diet log

I am learning much about health through dieting and here would find use in sharing my dieting logs, perhaps you could find interest in what I share here as many of you are health professionals. I am actually getting more fascinated with this matter and I'm really getting into the physically technical side of dieting as I monitor what I consume and see directly each affectation to my body that my choices make.

Generally, since starting my diet I am eliminating sugar consumption, reducing fat and cholesterol intake and dropping breads off my diet. I only drink non-sugar beverages and almost no juice as the fructose is bad like sugar. I take B12 and Niacin and if I eat sweets I choose the sugar free versions with stevia or maltitol. I now buy Erythritol to sweeten my coffee and presently am on a four day streak without sugar.

My highest weight was 220+ lbs in 2007 and I weighed 180-190 from 2008 to 2020. Since starting my new diet about 8 months ago I went from 188 lbs to 148 at the lowest a month ago but now today weigh 157 lbs. (155-160 this last week.)

Here's my most recent log if you are interested.

    Su Jun 20 - 159.0 lbs 445pm
    Mo Jun 21 - 155.6 lbs 715am - 160.1 lbs 1115pm
    Tu Jun 22 - 158.3 lbs 300am - 158.6 lbs 1140am - 156.1 lbs 1020pm
    We Jun 23 - 158.7 lbs 1150am - 159.4 lbs 1035pm

As you can see my weight varies depending on my beverage intake as water weight far exceeds solid food weights.

Today I ate Wasa cookie wafers with Smuckers sugar free jams as a topping. This breakfast is very low calorie as five cookies with jam totals no more than 150 calories. Then I ate 400c. in Goldfish crackers. Goldfish contains no sugar so I dont mind the little amount of fat as they are much healthier than poptarts or sandwich crackers or chips.

I enjoy finding new ways to make delicious low calorie meals and this has become a hobby of mine. Yesterday I ate vegetable wraps with baby tomatos, light sour cream and imitation crab, got stuffed on this with four bulging wraps and although it weighed more than four cheesburgers the calories totalled no more than 870. My only complaint about this diet is that there is a lot more limit in what I can choose as the unhealthy foods outnumber my diet criteria 20 to 1.

    Re: My ongoing diet log

I am appearing to lose some more weight as the numbers get lower in comparison to the weeks before. I dont want to become overly obsessive with weighing myself so I try to keep it at twice or thrice a day. Timing is everything and I am undecided on whether I should weigh myself regularly before or after I eat, as the difference can be as much as 4-5 pounds.

Good news is I am staying below my 2400 calorie cusp, where anything over that is weight gain. I try to keep each meal low sugar or sugar free and around 700 calories. My primary issue now is with protein intake. If I dont get my meats then my muscles start aching within two days because my job keeps me physically active. Day three sees me getting immobile as my tendons stiffen and ache. I keep myself hydrated and the amount of water I must consume to avoid depletion sickness can put my record keeping on a wild fluctuation so I question the accuracy of singular measurements and opt for a more broad observation to gauge how much I am losing (or gaining). So, last week I made more jumps over 160lbs than this week and this week I am clinging closer to the 155lb mark than I had for at least a month now. Diligently watching my diet and carefully planning my consumption has a lot to do with it. Its so easy to start snacking and munching whenever you feel like it so theres real determination there to stay on course.

Today I ate Oat Bran for brunch and now just finished a 10oz. bag of steak jerky (700 calories) then heres my 250c. bag of Sugar-Free York patties and 120c. skim milk Latte. Thats about 1500c. altogether and now I am not hungry. A year ago this wouldnt make a dent in my hunger and I would probably have gotten a pint of Ice Cream and a few cheeseburgers so I pat myself on the back.

Here's my diet log. Starting tomorrow I will save more details like calorie consumption and potty records.
