    Post Grapefruit seed extract anybody?

Recently I did some research on grapefruit seed extract (GSE) and I'm sorta considering getting some to use for my acne.

It's a powerful antibiotic that bacteria cannot be resistant to and apparently nowadays it's being used to treat fatal infections in which the bacteria have become resistant to drugs. Sounds good to me, plus it doesn't harm the beneficial bacteria of your body either.

So I'm wondering whether anybody has tried this and how did they use it? I'm thinking of getting some and using it topically. I mean, it works against deadly bacteria so what have I got to loose?

Well, I havn't personally tried it but have always been interested. Someone on this board posted about 4-5 weeks ago about how his friend was taking a daily dose of grape extract along with a few other extracts and it kept her face clear...

Anyways, good luck and make sure you tell us how it goes!

I used it for awhile when it first dawned on me to do internet research about acne. Lots of people who are into natural treatments use GSE for bladder infections. I used it topically and orally--DO NOT GET IT IN YOUR EYES!!! It is so acidic and stung my skin, which is normally not at all sensitive. After washing, I wet my face, rubbed a few drops over, waited a few seconds and rinsed. I also took drops in water (read the label) but it was SO bitter, I had to stop. That said, I gave up on the naturals (B5, zinc, tea tree oil, etc.) and headed straight for the Accutane soon after. I never saw much results with the GSE, but a woman on another board I used to go to said her son cleared up a lot using GSE and taking other vitamins and Omega-3 oils. Worth a shot.

Not grape seed extract, grapefruit seed extract. They're totally different, but I've heard of people using both.
