    nausea from not eating

Does anyone ever feel nauseated from not eating? I seem to have the problem. I tend to get it worse in the morning and no I am not pregnant. I know I could probably eat better. i am just curious..

This is a very common problem. Themost common remedy for nausea is eating, in fact. For morning sickness, sea sickness, etc., the prescription is to eat.

The nausea is probably a symptom of low blood sugar. This is especially likely in the morning after the night's fast. Try a high protein breakfast, asap after arising. (I know it seems like you should take sugar for low blood sugar, but since sugar provokes insulin, you will usually do better by taking in protein such as eggs, or very complex carb/protein mix such as oatmeal as these feed glucose to the blood stream but slowly, so as not to provoke an insulin spike.)

Small frequent meals throughout the day, each with a bit of protein, may help, may even eliminate the problem.

    Hope so , anyway.

I know a lot of people who get nausea from fasting. They say it is detoxing (poisons in your body being released from burning fat), but there are plenty of other biological reasons for it. I don't get nausea from fasting, however, I can attest to getting extreme nausea from drinking kombucha tea, which is known for its detoxification abilities.

    try ginger tea

I get nauseated and the shakes when I haven't eaten...I believe its low blood sugar. Haven't talked to my doctor about it or anything, but if I eat several small meals a day, never go more than 2-3 hours between meals or snacks I am ok (and no I am not overweight either). It also helps to keep snacks in the car if you feel the symptoms of low blood sugar...I keep granola bars in there, they are very helpful!
