Is drinking soda every day a bad thing? How much is too much? I drink about one-two a day. I try to drink more juices, teas, etc., but I simply don't like them as much as I like soda. I have a slight caffeine addiction (I think), in that's I've had caffeine every day for years, and get a headache when I don't have it in a day (towards evening). (Truth be told, I've got other bigger things on my plate to worry about than the caffeine--I'm more worried about the acid in soda.)

The big issue with soda is that it's empty calories. If you can spare them, more power to you. Water is better than everything else you mentioned, though.

I've heard sometime similar to what mnl22 said . . . but that it is the phosphorous acid that leeches out nutrients (not just calcium). I have never had a good look at whether every soda contains it; but I am quite sure most of the colas do. The other issue is carbonation . . . and this is according to my dentist . . . he says it leeches the enamel off your teeth over time; and that is in every soda, plus some non-soda items.

Oh, we all choose our poisons; so you really need to look at your entire eating plan and decide.
