    Strawberries and kiwis...any benefits?

I love these two fruits and I just bought about 2 pounds of each one yesterday, so I'll be eating them for a while. But I can't help but wonder...besides being fruit servings, do strawberries and kiwis offer any other nutritional benefits? (I.e., like carrots helping vision)

Dark Stranger - made a strawberry-kiwi shake today and admits it wasn't as good as the synthetic flavor

    Not that I know of.
I DO know that strawberries are on of the most common food allergens. Think HIVES!

Thumbs up Re: Strawberries and kiwis...any benefits?

Hello, Yes, the previous poster is absolutely right. Strawberries and kiwi have lots of vitamins in them. They also have fiber. Kiwi has more potatsium than bananas, which is really good for lowing high blood pressure and giving you lots of energy. All red/orange fruits and veggies have vitamin A, known as beta carotine, which is what gives them their wonderful color.

Kiwi fruits are nutritional powerhouses! As stated above, they are high in fiber & potassium. They are also very high in Vit C (ounce for ounce, even higher than oranges, I believe), & are a good source of folate, magnesium, & even Vit E. In addition, they are loaded with phytochemicals that may play a role in fighting cancer. Strawberries are high in fiber & Vit. C. So, eat up those kiwis & strawberries!
