Meal Replacement drinks

Since I was a child (I'm 30 now) I've relyed a lot on meal replacement powders like "instant breakfast" and later Met-Rx and the latest one called "Ultimate Meal." I've never been overweight. I've actually been pretty skinny my whole life. I just don't like eating much. I usually only feel like eating once a day, and most days I only eat once or twice. I was curious if anyone out there has found a meal replacement powder that you can actually replace meals with for most or all of your meals, if you don't like to eat, so that you can get all of your nutrition and thrive. I'd probably still eat lunch since I'm not going to bring a blender to work but if I could drink a quick meal replacement shake or eat a meal replacement bar for the other 2 meals without worring about malnutrition or wasting away, that would be nice. I've found pleanty of meal replacement drinks that say you should substitute 2 meals with the drink but they have all been for people who want to lose weight and thats not me. If anyone has heard of such a product please share. Thanks!

Re: Meal Replacement drinks

I couldn't do that, I'd miss my fruits and veggies which you can't get in a meal replacement drink. There has been some research with some of these meal replacement drinks that seem to come up short of what they claim. From what I've heard they cost more, give less and you really don't get nutrition like their advertisement says, you can starve nutritionally in the long term range, it's big business aimed at people who are too lazy or think they are too busy to cook a good meal and are willing to pay the price. Once in awhile is fine but I hope you don't plan on this as a eating lifestyle cuz you'll lose in the long run. If I didn't like eating, the last thing I'd want is a gunky powder mix or bar as my source of eating enjoyment.

Exclamation Re: Meal Replacement drinks

If you don't like to eat then maybe there is an underlying issue that may need to be addressed instead of worrying about a protein shake to survive!! Your body wasn't designed to thrive on liquids...that's why we have a digestive system and it relys on digesting food for health. I'm not trying to be rude but were you ever diagnosed with an eating disorder? If not, then there HAS to be a reason why you don't LIKE to eat. I'm sure you don't want to hear this, but in a way, maybe you NEED to.
