**Healthy Snacks?**

I've been eating very unhealthy lately, but it's mainly when I snack. I'm not trying to loose weight, just eat better. What are some healthy snacks that I can prepare quickly? Thanks.

Dip fruit in lowfat vanilla yogurt - the kind that's sweetened with Nutrasweet. It's as satisfying as ice cream, and it will leave you feeling full for less than 200 calories (about the same calories as 2 or 3 cookies, which just leave me wanting more.)

-an apple with a tbsp of peanut butter
-fruit smoothie (I am just about to make one - 1/2 frozen banana, 5 or 6 frozen strawberries, 1/2 c skim milk, 1/2 c plain yogurt)
-1 serving Triscuit crackers (I like mine with some fresh guacomole)
-cut up veggies

I am not a fan of eating veggies. I have been trying to eat healthy since new year's day. I refuse to "diet" any longer because all that does is make me starve and the weight ALWAYS comes back.
So for the first time in my 30 years of life I am actually taking in veggies and fruits (about 5-10 servings a day) excercising for 50 mins (aerobics/pilates/weights) 4-5 times a week. I don't know if it's my imagination but my clothes are already feeling much nicer.
But to answer your questions about snacks......I love junk. My snacks used to consist of cookies, chips, rice crispies, chocolate etc.... I don't think I ever ate fruit----I know I never ate veggies, so converting to this lifestyle change has been excruciating!!!! I too don't really need to lose weight, I am just trying to get healthy and teach my kids better eating habits.
ALWAYS sat aside some time to wash veggies and cut them into bite size peices (snacking sizes) and I buy those ziploc storage containers the small ones and I always have red peppers, carrots, cucumbers, radishes, celery and cauliflower ready to grab out of the fridge, I also buy fat free or low fat sour cream and some of that powdered dip mix and make the dip right in the sour cream container. That way NO EXCUSES I bought it cut it up and it's staring right at me when I want to snack.
Also cut up fruit when you have time and make a big fruit salad and keep that in the fridge too. If you haven't cut things up in advance and don't make it easy for yourself---you're bound to do the easy and sinful thing like grab the box of cookies or tear open a bag of chips ( I know I would) Good luck to you.
