    Pretzels and Popcorn

I have read on a few various sites that a healthy snack could either be pretzels or popcorn. Now when they say this I am assuming they mean pretzels with no salt and popcorn with no butter or salt...am I right? Or are pretzels with salt on them ok? I really like pretzels but eating pretzels without salt on them is dumb to me cause they don't taste like anything. Thanks.

IMO, popcorn is a very good snack. It only has about 15 calories per cup (air popped) and it has fiber, which is always good. I think pretzels, which are low in fat, are an ok snack. Popcorn is definitely the better choice. Just my opinion.

Salt is not going to kill you if you don't have either a) hypertension (high blood pressure) or b) renal disease. It is good to keep your intake of sodium at a reasonable level, but I think eating pretzels with salt is a great choice. Lower in fat than chips anyway.

Popcorn is also a good source of non-heme iron!

As long as most of the rest of your diet doesn't contain alot of sodium, and you don't eat more carbs than you need, I'd say enjoy.

I guess she wasn't asking which is the better choice I think pretzels are still a good snack and, like others have said, salt is not going to kill you.

Aren't they AMAZING?!! I don't even like pretzels but ate one once at a party and went from store to store looking for them. Lays (I think) are the brand I like. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!
