    Question CATABOLIC FOODS/CABBAGE SOUP DIET

Has any tried the catabolic foods diet, or the cabbage soup diet? They are pretty similar. Need to lose about 50 lbs fast.
I was taking the plant macerat, lost 5 lbs. but gained it back (probably just water weight). Now I am taking metabolift and exercising at least an hour a day, lost 2 lbs so far. I would like to try this and stop the metabolift. I just seem to be hungry all the time still. With the catabolic diet, you can supposedly eat all you want. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

    Cool

I'm not to sure but I was on a diet with cabbage soup and the more soup you ate the more weight you would lose. I can't remember what you would eat during the day. There was quit a few people who lose weight on this diet but I couldn't take eating all that soup. I was getting sick of it. Sick of the taste. Good Luck.

THANKS FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT. I FOUND THE RECIPE. I AM GOING TO START THIS WEEKEND WHEN I CAN GET TO THE STORE. THERE'S ACTUALLY ALOT OF FOODS YOU CAN STILL EAT.
LOTS OF FRUITS AND VEGGIES,MEATS, AND BROWN RICE. SOUNDS PRETTY EASY. WE'LL GIVE IT A TRY. I'LL POST GOOD RESULTS HOPEFULLY.
    THANKS AGAIN

    Talking

    Badams5555,
here is the recipe I have (I've seen a few variations, but I got this one off of a website that promotes it):
    1 head cabbage--shredded or chopped
    1 stock celery
2 cans stewed tomatoes or whole tomatoes
    6 large green onions
    1 medium brown onion
    2 green peppers
5 cubes beef/chicken/veggie broth (your choice) OR 1-2 pkgs. lipton onion soup mix
    1 48oz. can of V-8(optional)
    8 cups water
    carrots optional
add Mrs. Dash, tumeric, bay leaves, dill, tarrogon, sage, parsley to taste

Put all veggies in a big pot, cover with water, bring to boil.stir in soup mix, boil gently 10 minutes.cover, reduce heat, simmer until all veggies are tender.stir in black pepper, and any other herbs mentioned above.
Eat as much as you like(supposedly the more you eat, the more weight you will lose!)

    Also Eat:
    DAY 1:all fruits except bananas
DAY 2:all veggies, raw or cooked,no potatoes or bananas
DAY 3: fruits and veggies,no potato or bananas
DAY 4: Bananas and skim milk(as many as 8 bananas,& 8 glasses of skim milk)
    DAY 5:Beef,boneless skinless chicken,fish,
as much as 20 oz.,can also eat 6 tomatoes
MUST ALSO DRINK 8 GLASSES OF WATER
DAY 6: same as day 5 but add veggies,no tomatoes, drink the water too.
DAY 7: Brown rice, veggies and unsweetened fruit juice.

DON'T FORGET TO EAT THE SOUP EVERYDAY, IT CAN BE FROZEN FOR FUTURE USE ALSO.
IT SAYS TO TAKE A COUPLE DAYS OFF,BUT TO EAT LOW CARBS,IF YOU PIG OUT ON CARBS,YOU WILL GAIN IT BACK. ALSO,BE PREPARED TO USE THE BATHROOM ALOT. IT WILL CLEAN YOU OUT=
GOOD LUCK, I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR OF ANY RESULTS. ANP

    Red face

I tried the Cabbage Soup diet because I wanted to lose some weight before a party that I was going to. I lost about 7 or so pounds in a week, but the weight was mostly water so it was regained. But I found that the soup wasn't that bad if you put some spices in it....black pepper, cayenne, or even garlic powder....stay away from any kind of salt! Hope it works! =)

    Exclamation

Couldn't stay on it for more than one day, I got so sick of the soup. It tasted pretty good, I put Mrs Dash spicy seasoning in it. But it was hot outside, and eating hot soup was making me nausious. Also, I couldn't stay out of the bathroom. My two year old took a couple bites of it when i was in the bathroom, and he still has diarreah a couple days later,Poor thing!
Anyway, I think I will stick to the Mayo Diet, and I'm taking Metabolift, like I was before, I've lost 10 lbs. so far. Good luck to those who try the cabbage soup!
