Hydroxycut, Dexatrim, or WHAT?

A couple months ago, I suddenly agained gained 11 pounds. Don't know why. Then it seemed the more I ate regular meals (all food groups) the more weight I gained. I agained a total of 20 pounds. So, I went back to eating one meal a day the way I used to. But that has not helped me to lose any weight.
I am now overweight for my size/build, and I have got to do something to lose the weight.
I bought the new advanced Ephedra free HYDROXYCUT today, have not taken it yet. Does it work? Or should I just go buy the ole' caffinated Dexatrim?
The only exercise I am allowed to do is Walking, due to neck of which was broken that I had surgery and recovered from a few years ago. (Even then I did not gain weight)
I do not understand this weight gain. Which is in my body not my thighs, ya know? UGH! Beneath my fat rolls lies a waist and I want it back.
Any suggestions on what to do or take?
Thanks.

Eating only one meal a day is definitely not a good idea. You'll only gain more weight. I'd suggest eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day to keep your body going and try not to eat a few hours before bedtime. Make sure you are drinking LOTS of water and continue to walk as much as you can.

Have you changed the foods that you are eating which would contribute to the weight gain?

As far as what you can take, I'm not sure as I've never taken any of those myself. Hopefully someone else can help you in that area. Good luck.
