    Post Milk causes stomach aches

When I drink milk in the morning (at about 8 am), my stomach will start hurting at about 10 am. It feels like someone is twisting my stomach and it hurts really bad. But this only happens in the morning. When I drink milk in the evening or afternoon, I feel fine. No stomach pains.

    Anybody know why?

many become lactose intolerant to some extent as we age....
try a skim milk or cut milk out and go to yogurt..many can digest yogurt when they can't milk...
humans are the only mammals to consume milk after being weaned...and.....some studies show it isn't necessary in our diet..
however.....was an easy compound to add vitamin d to when people started to settle in less sunny spots in the world...
    babble babble..sorry..

The same thing happens to me. Only I can't drink anything but Non Fat milk. That is the only milk that doesn't cause my stomach to twist up in knots. But I can drink as much Non Fat milk as I want. Its kinda weird. I know how badly it hurts, good luck with it.

If I was lactose intolerant, how come I only get stomach aches when I drink in the morning?

I won't have any stomach pains at all if I drink any other time during the day, only in the morning.

    Cyber,

You may only experience stomach aches from milk in the morning because you haven't put any food in your stomach for a few hours while you've been asleep. I sometimes have a similar reaction when I first eat something in the morning (though not really pains, just sourness). It goes away within the hour. In the mornings, have you tried drinking something other than milk? If you drink something else, and the pains still occur, then it's likely to be what I described above . Hope this helps you.

    Colleen
