wow, that's really expensive! we pay about $0,50 a litre, here in london it's a bit more expensive but not as much as in the US! i think i'll try to start drinking it, back home it's a really popular drink, often eaten with plain boiled potatoes we also make beetroot soup of it, it's eaten cold and has beetroot, cucumbers, eggs, spring onions and something else mixed with kefir. you should give it a try, it's really good

It sounds like you come from one of the Slavic countries, Sundaysun.

I like kefir, so my question is, should I avoid milk if I am having kefir? Is there a certain time of day to have kefir? Do you have to wait to take vitamins if you have kefir, and does kefir have any effect on birth control pills or other meds? How much kefir should you consume a day, or at a time?
    Thanks for any info.

    Tam,

I found that if I separate the milk and the kefir by 4 hours or more, there's no "explosive" reaction !
    I like a 10-12 ounce glassful a day.

I don't think there's any interaction between kefir and either birth control meds or vitamins.
