    Coffee/Capuccino/energy questions ?

I have some general questions about Coffee/Cappuccino/energy...

First, is coffee and cappuccino really bad for you and what is in it that is bad for you? Would 4-5 cups a week be okay?

Second, is Cappuccino just as bad for you than regular coffee? Does cappuccino even have the same "energy" effect as coffee (caffeine wise or whatever)?

I am asking this because I need something in the morning/day to eat or drink to give me some energy. Right now I do not like or drink coffee but I was thinking I could get used to some sort of Cappuccino drink.

I get very tired and I think maybe a cup a day will really help me..or something else to eat or drink.. I need some sort of caffeine and I don't drink pop because it's really bad for you and I don't wanna start (i'm assuming it's worse than coffee/cappuccino, could be wrong).

ANYWAYS, I know it's not the best thing to do but I get so tired and need just a little something to help me out. I actually plan on going to the doctor to check out why I get so tired (and i get plenty of sleep).

If anyone could help me out on caffeine/energy questions and the cappuccino thing... please thanks!

I haven't heard anything bad about coffee in moderation. If you're worried about chemicals you can get freshly ground beans or find a place that uses them. Yeah, there's caffeine in a cappuccino. The major problem with caffeine would probably be the way it affects the brain. It doesn't give you energy; it blocks the receptors that tell you you're sleepy. This feels like an energy boost, but over time your brain builds more receptors and you need more caffeine to get the same effect. It's a drug, basically, with an addiction factor and some nasty withrdrawal symptoms that can last a few weeks--good for a quick temporary fix, but over time becomes a habit. Also not recommended for people with arrhythmia, since it can cause the heart to race in large doses.

    Re: Coffee/Capuccino/energy questions ?

You know, I talked to my doctor about this and he actually said to go ahead and enjoy my caffeine as long as I'm not having WAY too much or drinking it late at night. He said a drink a day is definitely fine.

I don't drink black coffee, but I do like to put in a little skim milk and sweetener and shake it with ice to make a cold coffee beverage. Sometimes I'll have fun with it and put a little light whipped cream on the top. It's still low in calories with the way I do it.

Do you have a cappuccino maker or would you buy one already made? I'm sure any coffee beverages will give you some energy, but just try to watch the calories on them because some things have a lot (like a java chip frappuccino for example!).

Also, you can always try energy drinks or one of my new favorites... crystal light energy. I drink the crystal light one most of the time because it's quick and easy, and coffee occasionally. Everybody has their favorite energy drinks and some are nasty to me... so I just have to try them. My favorites are Tab Energy and Rip It Citrus X sugar free.
