Diet question please help me understand :)

So I always have a cheat meal once a week. Howver, the chicken I usually get in my cheat salad (I dont use lettuce..its basically a yummy salad with everything minus the lettuce) was all out. I ended up buying a fried breast and using the meat from that. I know this will add even more cals to my cheat meal and I am freaking out. I work so hard on my body and eat so well yet I dont want to screw this all up. I have been having more meals these past days so you can you see, I have cheated a few times!
Question is: By removing the skin/bread/fried part (I did have to have a taste TBH...it was nom nom) did I limit the amount of fats/cals that I consumed? I am sure the skin acts as some sort of barrier but I have a feeling some of the oil must have gotten on the meat itself, right?

model1979,

Taking the skin off is definitely an improvement. But from my past experience (I don't eat meat anymore) it can still be a little greasy. Some of the fat might be from the skin itself and some from the oil. However, I don't think it's too big of a cheat. You do need some fat in your diet anyway. Just make sure that you have lots and lots of vegetables to go with the chicken. And perhaps a serving of whole grain pasta or whole wheat berries mixed in with the salad.

Thanks for this. Yes i eat tons of MUFAs actually. My diet is higher protein, higer in haelthy fats and low in carbs. I never eat bread and cant have veggies as i dont digest them very well. Since my meal contained so much fat anyways I was hoping not to go too crazy in that area!

thanks for your help

You are correct, the skin is bad and the fact that it was fried is also bad. You need to use grilled, boiled or baked chicken next time.

Um..yeah I know this. They DID NOT have grilled. I did not have a choice. I have been feeling so guilty this whole week. Thanks for just adding to that.
