    Gastritis diet

Does anyone have a good diet plan for gastritis? this is due to stress I believe. My stepdaughter was very low glycomic index at 8. Through some rigorous iron and folic acid treatment she is back up to 12. She was diagnosed with gastritis and has to be on a diet for this for two years. Also I am in Peru and this is from Peruvian doctors so I am a little worried. I tried to research what foods to eat but every other site said eat this and not this, then the other site said just the opposite. Tomatoes or no tomatoes? potatoes or no potatoes? onions or no onions? it goes on and on. I need a good diet plan for her she is only 13.

Any help would be appreciated, Dan

    Re: Gastritis diet

You might try small non-spicy simple snacks or meals and see what the effect is. Let's say a serving of rice, for example. If it aggrivates the condition you can cross it off your list. Another one might be a couple of poached eggs and see if it helps or hurts. Or how about steamed vegetables? This will take some time to try each item separately but it might be worth a try.
