Best fruits for low carb diet?

    Hi all,

I have been following a very low carb diet since September of last year. My weight has dropped from 342 to 281 (as of yesterday morning). I rarely eat and fruits because most are high in sugar. However, I want to start introducing them slowly into my diet. I was wondering which fruits would be best? Or are all okay because they're ingredients are natural? I would love to grab a banana and go, but I've heard this is one of the worst fruits - highest in carbs. Since I would eat the majority of fruits for breakfast I imagine I would work it off throughout the day as I am very physically active.

    Any input is appreciated.

The fruits with the lowest amount carbs are lemons, limes, rhubarb, raspberries, blackberries, and cranberries. These also contain the highest levels of antioxidants and other phytonutrients. Hope this was helpful!

Firstly, AWESOME & WELL DONE - Good on you to have lost the weight.

I agree with Earthinglover with all the fruits that were stated. I was going to say the same thing.

Yes, banana is the highest in carb but as you say you can work it off throughout the day. So, no having a banana will not damage your 'diet', just include the carb count of the banana.

You are doing brilliantly, wow - well done. You are saving your life.

    Keep strong and smile.

All the best and keep taking good care of yourself.

    Grapes aren't bad.

Grapes are exceptionally high in fructose (natural sugar). Most diabetics are advised to limit grapes to a small handful based on this fact.
