    probiotics and flu like symptoms

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I have no insurance and lots of anxiety so any help would be appreciated. I found out a few months ago that I'm gluten intolerant and have been gluten free for about four months. I was advised to take probiotics to help heal my gut, so I bought some and took them for the first time on Tuesday. I felt a little bit sick after taking it and did feel kind of 'off' all day, but didn't think too much of it.

Well, that night I had awful chills (no fever, temp was actually low but I felt really hot), a headache, dizziness, and nausea. The next day was a lot better, unless I tried eating. Whenever I did I felt sick. It's now Saturday and I'm not really feeling any better. I'm extremely tired despite sleeping 12+ hours a night, headache and dizziness that comes and goes, feel warm and skin is hot to the touch but no fever, slightly stuffed up nose, can't eat without feeling sick (i've barely eaten in 4 days) and not much of an appetite anyway, constipation, and shortness of breath sometimes (seems like it happens when i'm laughing, and when i lay down). I've heard of some people having flu like symptoms after starting probiotics, so I thought that was it but I'm starting to think I actually have the flu. The only thing that makes me think otherwise is that I have no fever and no cough. I had the flu a while back and my first symptom was a cough that got so bad I could barely breath. Though I know it's not going to be exactly the same every time..

I actually had something similar to this 4 or 5 years ago as well.. Almost the exact same symptoms, the biggest being that I felt sick whenever I ate. It lasted for like two weeks and then another week or two before I was eating normally again. Though since finding out about the gluten intolerance I figured that was because of gluten.. But maybe it was actually a virus of some sort? Or is this just the probiotics? I only took them that one time though.

Sorry this is so long, but I'm having lots of anxiety over this and was just wondering if anyone else had experienced anything similar to this so that I don't feel so alone. Like I said, I can't afford to see the doctor right now so I'm kind of going crazy here trying to figure it out and googling things. Though googling usually ends with me thinking I have cancer or some kind of terminal disease. :P Help!

I've read that people have varying reactions to probiotics and initially they can be quite negative, like general sick feelings. Basically it's like a war between the good and bad bacteria. I had some similar feelings when I first started taking them. Chills at night and stuff like that. It subsides within a week or two.
