Pain and Lump in upper left abdomen. Help!! :(

Hey guys, I'm Remy. I'm a 20 year old male. I've had this lump in my stomach accompanied by several stomach issues for about 3-4 years now. I have had a variety of tests including blood work, urine sample, ultrasound, 2 CT scans & a even colonoscopy (at 18 years old).

For the most part, they have all came back completely normal. Doctor's keep saying I have all the symptoms of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), but aren't able to find any evidence of the lump I keep referring to. I know I'm not crazy... I can literally feel this lump at all times and seems it is the source of my stomach problems.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Any ideas as to why this lump/mass does not show on tests? I can't act like it isn't there anymore because it seems it is becoming larger and more painful as time goes on.

This lump is located in the upper left portion of my abdomen, near the bottom of my rib cage. It feels like a balloon that is applying great pressure against my insides... The lump is squishy and I can uncomfortably push it in and then it pops right back out immediately. It becomes more prominent after eating a meal or whenever I notice my symptoms flare up.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Your stomach seems perfectly normal. As food goes into the stomach it creates a full feeling or 'lump' on the left side of the body. Think of how a balloon expands if you pour water into it.

Really it's good to learn anatomy so that you can tell what is basically normal.

IBS is a tough health issue, and I know people with it. You may be able to get that under control and feel much better if you eat balanced meals at regular intervals, and take a probiotic or digestive enzymes before meals. Cut back from breads and anything with sugar. Don't drink while eating. Drink before or wait an hour after so you are not diluting the digestive juices.
