Just had colonoscopy diverticular x 2

Hi to all,

I had colonoscopy today to see if i had polyps which i dont i do have diverticular x 2 in lower bowel what meds can i take for it and ive read its the cause of lower back pain which i get constantly.

And what foods can you eat to help with this problem.

I also sometimes get loose stools and bowel leakage 2.

Have you talked to your GI doctor about this? You do need to be on a special diet with diverticulitis..your doctor can prescribe something to stop the lose stools as well.

You want to avoid certain foods which can trigger pain. Whole Grains and seeds/ nuts are big triggers...try to avoid these.

I was told i dont need to do anything about this problem by the person
Who did my bowel scope so if thats true what was the point in telling
Me about it i will see my gp next week.

Some people with diverticulosis have to avoid nuts and/or seeds. For others, these are not a problem. My husband can eat nuts but not seeds although tomato seeds don't bother him. Seeds cause a flare / abdominal cramping for him. But I know others who don't have a problem with nuts or seeds. Keep in mind that some "seedless" foods can have small seeds (e.g., grapes, navel oranges).
