three weeks ago i started having bad pain to the right side of my belly button
my doctor sent me for a cat scan then i was admitted to the hospital they said i had appendicitis and a bad gallbladder a surgeon came in and said i was ok just needed my gallbladder removed sometime. i went home after 2 days of nothing being done. i really dont feel like its my gallbladder since this is almost always there pain no worse after i eat but no better i eat fine
but still having the pain 3 weeks later it feels like contractions on the right of the belly button. my bowels are fine i do get dizzy and feel nausea at times
i am 44 female they want to take out the gallbladder in 2 weeks from now
i am scared of going under i am on heart medicines for a-fib. the surgeon hardly listened to me tell him my symptoms and he never even felt my belly just went from what the report of the cat scan said.

Well, if the scan showed stones, you need it out. And your insurance won;t approve the removal without a stone or a negative HIDA scan. So, I think you can safely say, at least some part of it is the GB. And nausea is a sympton of GB problems. I started getting that about a month before I had mine out...the ribcage pain had been there for some months. It's a simple surgery - keyhole type - and you'll be out same day. From the time they put the mask over my face till I was awake enough in recovery to read the clock was only 40 minutes. The surgeon said the procedure only took 20 minutes. You'll be fine!

Re: Help what can this be

I had my GB removed two and half weeks ago and feel so much better. I didn't realize all the aches and pains I had. It's amazing after having pains for so long, you just live with it as a daily thing. If your Ct scan shows trouble with your GB, you should have it removed. I had right pain in my ribs and always associated with exercise. I got headaches 5 out of 7 days and assoc. it with stress. I would get terrible pains below my sterum and think that a particular meal just didn't agree with me. There are more side effects like burping feeling bloated and just not feeling right. They are all gone!!

My surgeon told me that if I did not get mine removed that I was at a high risk of getting an infection in my GB. I had an attack on the 4/07 and ended up at the ER. I had it removed on the 14th. I guess every case is different but I never even thought about a GB before the 7th.

Good luck!
