Question back pain

Does anyone ever have upper back pain that they
associate with GERD? When I breathe in I get a pain
in my middle upper back could it have to do with GERD?

Hey there,
Oh yeah, know that well! Have you been diagnosed and if so what meds have you been given?
Cheers,
Dunk.

My doc has me on Protonix. It was working great for 8 weeks but now it seems to have lost some of it's effect. How about you?

I too suffer from Backpain (burn) with this GERD. I'm taking Nexium 40mg. The backpain has decreased a lot, one in a while I feel it. I also get pain in the chest sometimes.

Hello again,
I just finished 6 week course of Nexium (40mg/day), which has cleared up the reflux (for good i hope) Before that I was on Aciphex which gave me esophagus spasms. The pain started under my right ribcage and extended around and stopped in the middle of my back. Hurt like hell. My back burned for hours at a time. I did have a few episodes of that before I took any medication, so who knows if it was the Acipex causing it or whether it just wasn't working and my GERD was getting worse.
BHoundLver - I get the occasional twinge now too after eating what I'm not supposed to. Scares me into thinking the reflux is back. Tough going with all the tempting food out there at this time of year!
Cheers to all,
Dunk.

Me too, definitely. I get back pain, and I have GERD. I have structural issues with my spine but that's mostly in my low back. My dorsals are, however, definitely related!

You bet.
