    Re: H-pylori

As you may know H pylori can be present w/o symptoms or with symptom of both gastritis and ulcers.

If the directions say take Mastica before breakfast then do it -- My bottle says take 1 or 2 between meals-- I took 2 of them at about 10am and 2 at 4 pm ( at the direction of my Doctor) and took probiotic supplements with breakfast and at bed time with yogurt-- I also take all pills with yogurt unless the directions say not to like the antibiotic --Cipro.

    Re: H-pylori

I bought mine first from the Doctor's Office-- Mastica by Allergy Research --the first time at retail price but later found it at the Vitamin Shoppe alot cheaper.
But Chios is an island in Greece that the plant grows and the gum resin is harvested from--
I think Mastika and Mastica is the same---
    I will find out~~

    Re: H-pylori

Mastika is the brand name of mastic gum sold by a company ---- in Espon, UK
It is sold in 27 countries throughout the world--
The same as Mastica the brand name for Allergy Research in the States.

The directions on the Mastika bottle says -- take it on an empty stomach.
But, like I said --- I took it with yogurt but did take it between meals.

Mastic Gum has been used for hundreds of years in Greece for all sorts of gastrointestinal problems.

It works for me and it seems like it's working for you!!!

    eric,
Calcium and magnesium are very important minerals that your body uses for various functions. Lacking it causes alot of problems!

At the top of this page bluepumkin started a thread about GERD --I feel Good let me tell you Why--
Bluepumkin had a problem and I suggested that he use a magnesium supplement for spasms / cramping and it cured his problem -- 3 years ago.
I suggest you read that thread about magnesium.

The moderator made it a Sticky Thread at my request so others could benefit from bluepumpkin's experience and his sharing.

Now when a thread gets too long it is closed because the it slows the computer server down.

Now the GERD board has been changed to the Acid Reflux board.

    Re: H-pylori

I post alot on these boards but magnesium is not a mineral that you take to help gastritis or ulcers.

Magnesium is in every cell of your body and is used for many things but not inflammation of the stomach--- I don't recall suggesting that you need magnesium but 75 or 80% of people lack it even though it is present in alot of foods.

You probably need it also! But not for gastritis -- you may have read it in another post about helping spasms and cramping associatd with a hiatal hernia pain.

    Post Re: H-pylori

Harry, can you help me too.

I started this thread and thought I was signed up for email updates but never got any.

However, can you assist me too?

I have been taking the PrevPac for 8 days now and I have had diarhea every morning that I have taken it and sometime through out the day. I also have nausea during the day. I am now starting to eat yogurt but I am suppose to keep taking my medicine until I finish it.

By the way, my H-pylori blood test came back high at 6.9 with the highest being 10. I really don't want to keep taking this PrevPac......

    Please respond back. Thanks ZMan
