    Re: H-pylori

Yes, I do, in Charlotte, NC. I am thinking about going down to my local store and looking for the M Gum.

The side effects of the PrevPac Triple Therapy is almost too much to bare. Every morning, my toilet is hit with a water fall from me. (Sorry to be so graphic)

    Re: H-pylori

    Zman,
You are taking the right medication to get rid of H.pylori. -- I know it is messing up the bacteria in your intestines and making you feel bad but it does that to some people. How many days do you have left to finish the Pre Pac.

You can buy Reuteri by Nature's Way at health food stores and take it several times daily to help the diarrhea. But, the best Reuteri is by Nature's Sunshine but I have only found it online.

Also, find Stonyfield Farms yogurt and eat it 3 or 4 times daily--- It is very good - buy it at Publix, Harris Teeter or other stores in the south and Health Food Stores.

These are not sold in Canada.
Mastic Gum is good but it is not a medicine like you are taking. It is an OTC remedy.

    I Wish you well---Harry

    Re: H-pylori

    Thanks Harry,
I went down the street and purchased some Probiotics by Jarrow Formulas from a Health Food Store. Those should help me manage the side effects of the Antibiotics. Plus, I will take 2 daily after I finish the Triple Therapy Pac. I am not a yogurt person and these Probiotic tablet should help me now and in the future. I did not know that there was such a thing...

I was told to not take the Probiotic at the same time of the Antibiotics, which makes sense.

This is day 8 of the Triple Therapy Pac (PrevPac). I am to take them for 14 days.

Thanks for reaching back to me so promptly.

    Aaron

PS: I don't see how pregnant women manage morning sickness...

    Re: H-pylori

    Aaron,
That is not what I would do!!

You asked for help and I told you what I thought you should do.

Eating yogurt is necessary for several reasons-- It has been handled properly from the manufacture all the way by shipping to the store and contains active live cultures that will work in your GI track to re-balance the friendly bacteria that is now very much out of balance. It make no difference if you are not into it or not -- I know that it helps -- you certainly don't have to like it--- consider it a nasty medicine.
It has been found that eating a good brand of yogurt helps control H.pylori bacteria in healthy people.

There are only a few probiotic supplements on the market that are not badly affected by HEAT and Stomach Acids.--- they are I know -- Reuteri, Culturelle, Primal Defense, PB-8, Pearls, Kyo-dophilus there may be others but I have not found them.

You don't know where that Jarrow supplement has been -- it was probably made in Canada -- the Company is in Los Angles, CA-- was it distributed from there? It is enteric coated that usually don't work very well with stomach acid if it stays very long in your stomack and they advertise it is room tmperature stable-- that means above 72 degrees F alot of the culture is destroyed. Do you think that probiotic got to you and was never above 72 degrees for any extended period -- I have used it and it is not very good for what you are using it for NOW. Note what it says on the box-- " at the time of manufacture, each capsule contained--xxx-- I wonder how much it is now??

It is OK for regular use to help maintain friendly flora. But your condition is far from normal. You may even end up with gastritis or a yeast/ candida infection-- Who knows right now??
The antibiotics you are taking are very strong and you are very sensitive. We are not all the same.

    I wish you well~~~Harry

    Wow, that was a scolding.

I paid $18 for that Jarrow.

I will go out and locate the Reuteri and find some of that yogurt. I have a Harris Teeter just above home.

I had diarhea really bad this morning twice and did not take my 3 pack. I will this evening though.

I will ask my Pharmacist if I could break it up to 1 pack a day for the remainder of the therapy.

    Thanks for your cander.

    Re: H-pylori

    Aaron,
Sorry--I did not mean to sound the way you took it -- but more educational. I been using yogurt and probiotics for many years and have learned alot of practical stuff -- spend alot of money on remedies and treatments that flat did not work.

I am just trying to give you an edge-- heads up information about something that you may not be familar with -- yet.

I have gone into health food stores to buy probiotic supplements from CA to SC and the box would say -- "keep refrigerated" and it would be on a shelf in the store at their room temperature. After doing this a few times, you learn something about why they don't do what they are advertised to do.

I get gastritis and candida problems after using almost any oral antibioting just 5 days.
It use to be a pain for me to deal with -- I have had alot of divirticular, sinus, urinary tract, prostate infections including ulcers that were treated about like you are being treated.

    Just trying to help~~~Harry

    No problem Harry,

I picked up the Primal Defense and the brand of yogurt that you suggested.

I took 2 Primal Defense and will take a 3rd one tonight, prior to my antibiotic. When do you think that I will start to feel the results?

    Thanks,
    Aaron

    Josh,
Never heard of using Pine Nut oil for gastritis or ulcers/ H.pylori bacteria-- but will look it up!! --Thanks --never can tell??

    Aaron,
Sorry I did not get back to you as soon as I normally do.
We are all different and it may take some time after you finish the antibiotics to get the intestinal bacteria in balance.
Has the yogurt and Primal Defense helped??

    eric,
How is the gastritis doing-- are you able to eat anything since you started Mastic Gum?
Antibiotics can really mess you up.

    Re: H-pylori

    eric,
It usually would take a month or so for me to be back to normal.
You really have to get the good bacteria back to normal and not out of balance with probiotic supplements, yogurt and I have used Kefir.
I think what happens is the lactobacllii in the small intestines get out of balance resulting in you not being able to digest necessary nutrients properly.

It still amazes me that Doctors give people very strong antibiuotics and then don't treat the results they cause. I guess alot of people have strong immune systems and have very little affect but some of us are very sensitive and the result can really mess up alot.
