    Unhappy stomach probs..need help..desperate..plz

I am 26 years old and this is what is going on. Alittle over a year ago I had bronchitis and was on antibiotics. About a week after I finished the meds, I started having some bloating in my upper abdomen, mostly at night. After a week of this is turned to nausea that lasted all day. After 3 weeks I went to the doctor and she put me on Axid and paxil which gave very little relief. I saw a different doctor who put me on zantac and lexapro. That doctor did a blood test for h pylori, stool cultures, ultrasound on my gallbladder, HIDA scan and endoscopy. I was told they were all normal. He just gave up after that saying it was probably stress causing my stomach to produce too much acid. Here I am still having trouble only it has lessened to an episode where about once a day I am queesy, nauseated, or my stomach just feels off. I had no pain until last thursday during my annual pap, the doctor was pressing on my belly and I felt a twing of pain just left of my belly button. She said it was probably just gas. Ever since then I have felt an ache on and off on the left side. I have no heartburn. I do however have some minor trouble with constipation in the sense that I go 2-3 times a week but very small amounts of stool, the stool is either pellets or a solid made of pellets, I notice mucous in it sometimes, I strain everytime, and sometimes feel unfinished. Sometimes I get a soreness real low across my stomach that seems to be relieved after a good bowel movement but the doctor said it could be from ovulating. I ended up developing panic disorder and anxiety because my stomach upset was so bad that when I would try to go anywhere it made it worse. Now I barely am able to leave my house. I am sorry this is so long but I wanted to inform you. I am desperate. I have a husband and 2 kids and I just feel like my life is on hold. I can't live like this anymore. I just need some suggestions of what it could be, what I could suggest for the doctor to try, or what I can try on my own. Thanks so much

Antibiotics totally mess up your stomach. You're gonna have to take a probiotic for a while to fix it. A good one is Dr. Ohhira's essential probiotics.

As has been said --antibiotic can mess up the friendly bacteria in your intestines and there is no easily run test for it. And you have eliminated all the bad thing that it could be. But, it affects everyone differently to some extent.

There are several things you can do to help get back to normal.
Start eating a good brand of plain yogurt to help re-balance the friendly bacteria in your GI tract. The type that has alot of added cultures is best. I like and use Stonyfield Farm best but there are others that you can find at health food stores. Read the labals. All yogurt contains 2 bacteria and all makers add acidophilus. What you want is the type that has more cultures.
I also suggest you eat some every 3 to 4 hours. There is a yogurt on the market that will help you have regular BMs--- Avtivia by Dannon. It is not good to re-balance intestinal bacteina -- it does not even contain acidophilus.

Pellet looking stools usually indicates you are not drinking enough water. You need at least 8 glasses daily.

I also suggest that you start taking a water soluble fiber supplement like Metamucil daily.
I like and take the Orange flavored sugar free type that you mix with water twice daily. And, I use the Equate brand from Wal Mart -- it cost less and works well.-- Start off slow because it is a natrual fiber and it does ferment and cause gas -- but with continued use the gas will go away.

    I wish you well----Harry
