are colonics good for IBS/diverticulosis?

do colonics help with IBS and eliminate most diverticula from colon?
I've been reading about the "Colonix internal cleansing program" which is supposed to be beneficial for anyone with digestive problems including IBS and diverticulosis.
I have been diagnosed last year with diverticulosis and a 5 cm. hiatal hernia
and i am still awaitng an appointment by mail to see a gastrologist.
i have yet to be diagnosed with IBS. I'm almost certain i have it.
since last January i have been having severe bloating and constipation not to mention heartburn/acid reflux.
I don't know if what i have is simply a distended stomach because when i drank the bowel preparation solution which cleaned out my large intestine for my barium enema test, i was still bloated afterwards. could the hiatal hernia also be causing this? is it part of the problem or the main culprit?

i have tried just about everything that has been recommended such as staying away from junkfood, alcohol, fats and sweets, and consuming more fiber such as wheat, bran, veggies and fruits, lots of apple juice, water (though admitedly not alot) skinless chicken breast/white meat, white rice, vitamins, acidophilus and magnesium supplements (though i have yet to try MSM), digestive enzymes
to little or no result. i'm still as bloated and constipated as ever, if not worse. i'm just about at wits end. i only take my prescribed nexium when i have heartburn, and the Reguloid that has also been prescribed to me barely helps. am i doing something wrong or am i just impatient? your advice is greatly appreciated.

Check out the Bowel Disorder board, may find more answers to some of your questions there.
Colonics are not the same thing as Colonix.
Colonics are done with the help of a trained hydrotherapist. It is a process of using water to gently remove impacted matter from your colon. Also referred to as hydrotherapy.
Good luck with your search.

Don't do any of this stuff. It's a "waste". You're not getting rid of anything useless that your system wouldn't have done itself over a few days.

Re: are colonics good for IBS/diverticulosis?

so i guess the underlying message is once you have any sort of digestive disability, you're pretty much screwed for life, right?
thanks a lot.

i mean, how can there not be any cure for this?
it's not like it's HIV or something.
