    Burning in belly button area

I have a constant gnawing, raw burning feeling in my belly button area constantly. I wake up in the mornings and I usually feel fine. Sometimes I'll wake up bloated too. Over the counter Gaviscon seems to help the burning temporarily but usually no more than an hour or two and the burning pain is back.
As soon as I eat or drink anything in the morning, water, juice, whatever it is, the burning begins and its here all day. I've also over the last couple of months been getting really nauseous. I've been experiencing the burning for about 3 years now but its gotten worse this year.
If I eat or drink anything I get very nauseous but never to the point of throwing up but feel like I could any minute.
I've also noticed too that around my belly button where I burn the worst my belly button is really red.
What does all of this mean?

Re: Burning in belly button area

Hi - I've read some of your posts. Your problem could be acid reflux as I'm sure you've considered or irritable bowel syndrome as well. You seem to have a lot of anxiety as a result of your medical problems so you may want to ask the doctor to prescribe something to calm you down while you wait for answers. Anxiety alone can exacerbate stomach conditions. Best of luck.
