CT Scan Question...

I have been having some issues lately with bleeding and flat stools, and my doctor told me that this Pelvic CT Scan they ran on me would show up any problems that were in the area. They made me drink this liquid stuff the night before.. and yes it tasted really bad. Anyway, I just need some reassurance, would a pelvic CT scan reveal any type of rectal cancer or anything down there?
