pain in middle of lower ribcage...sound familiar?
Has anyone had a similar problem to this?
I have been having sporadic pain in the lower to center area, between my ribcage, for about 9 months now...due to location, it doesn't seem to "fit" into a particular diagnosis...
I have had several episodes of this pain, often with vomiting, after eating fatty meats. The pain starts out mild and gets so bad I've gone to the ER.
I have had:[LIST][*]ultrasound of my gallbladder (some inflammation, but no stones seen)[*]CT scan of appendix (no problems found)[*]Upper GI endoscopy (no bacteria to indicate ulcer)
I had tried Protonics for a while, as the Dr. said maybe its GERD. However, I didn't really have much of an issue w/ acid reflux, so I was skeptical.
After starting the Protonics, I still had a slight feeling of pressure (as if someone was pushing their finger in between my ribcage) for several weeks following ER trip. Since the medicine didn't seem to do much (and I felt weird about long term effects) I quit using it...and had another episode (pain, vomiting) 4 months later.
DR. wants to do a CCK Hida Scan, but I still wonder if due to central location of pain (not to left or right, but in lower to middle center of rib cage) if it is something other than gallbladder (and I don't want any unnecessary tests).
It may be coincidence, but each time this has happened, it was close to the start of my period.
Any input would be appreciated. Thank you!
