Unhappy Please help. Any advice

Recently I've been having problems with my bowels. (I have IBS) but my partner mentioned I might have worms....I have been eating a lot recently. In some of my bowel movements (not all) I have seen whitish/orangey bits. I have had quite a few headaches recently. I'm so scared. I've become too scared to actually go toilet now. Also about two weeks ago I vomited two evenings in a row- several times. What do you think?

While it's not something anyone wants to talk about, it's nothing to be ashamed of. Go see a doctor and get tested.

You can relax. It's not uncommon with people with IBS symptoms. I noticed it many years ago. I was really worried about it but I was afraid to mention it. When I finally did, my doctor reassured me that everyone has mucus in their digestive system. It's there to lubricate and move things along. You might see little bits of white or long streaks. Sometimes you see it more than others. It's also normal to see little bits of fat or undigested food from time to time.

It wouldn't hurt to get tested for parasites and all that, especially if you've been traveling or have other symptoms such as diarrhea. If you see blood or a lot of pus, tell your doctor so s/he can rule out diverticulitis or other colon problems.

Hi i am sorry to hear about your probs. I was initially given a quick diagnosis of ibs but after a year it turned out to be wrong. I had similar probs with passing blood, mucus and what turned out to be pus. Gross I know but ct showed nothing it wasnt until I had a colonoscopy that it turned out I had a diverticulosis infection and it was severe enough that it was coming out. Just something to think about I had to fight to get passed the ibs diagnosis and get them to do something and keep searching. Best of luck to you-jen
