can I eat lettuce after a nissen fundoplication

How long has it been since your surgery? My doc made it clear, liquids and soft foods only for a very long time. Lettuce would come later. Not all docs make you wait so long. My surgeon was very clear on this with me though. From what I have read on the internet, I think I had fewer problems afterwards that others because I didn't introduce the foods in as soon.

I had my surgery 3 mos. ago. Unfortunately, as a side effect of the PPI's, I developed IBS. The doc has restricted me from all raw fruits and veggies...especially lettuce. I can't comment on how it affects my after the nissen because I haven't tried it.

I had my Nissen on 9/23 and I have just added back salads to my diet. When I saw my surgeon toward the middle of November, his instructions were to try new foods and if you can't tolerate then wait a few weeks before trying them again. I haven't had any trouble with the lettuce at all. I still haven't tried red meats yet.

from what i have read you can but i would ask a doc . google it too if youd rather get free advice first theres lots of good info out there.
