What does an Ulcer actually feel like?

Was it an ulcer?? I see the post is a few months old now. I am experiencing severe stomach pain, sick to my stomach constantly and havent been able to eat for a week. I also get some burning in the right side of my chest (almost like someone letting liquid out in my chest cavity). I had a barrium swallow and it shows normal but that was mainly the esophagus I think. I am curious to see what you found out.

hi, i know this was a while ago but i get stomach ulcers from time to time, they might feel slightly different to others but to me it felt like a burning hot knife was stabbing me in the stomach and being twisted.

I have gastric ulcers, and yes, the pain is just below the ribcage and spreads over the upper stomach. Worse at night, or on an empty stomach.

Is it a squeezing pain that comes and goes? Do you get stabbing pains with it too or just burning?

Were you dx'd via blood work?


I have had this upper left pain (an inch below my l breast) for a month that comes and goes throughout the day. Initially food bothered it, would make me hurt and I would get indegestion. My lipase was slightly elevated for 2 wks (still may be, should have results tomorrow). I am SO scared it is my pancreas as my dad died of PC. I had a US and CT and it was clear though I know it can miss PC. I did read that an elevated lipase could mean an ulcer, however, I dont have hypolori?
