Painful urination normal after colon surgery?

Sometimes urination is painful and I'm also constipated after 2 weeks of surgery? Will be seeing my doctor in 3 days for post op check up. I stopped taking pain killers 1 week ago to help relieve constipation and also started taking stool sotfners as per doctor's advice. Do I have a bladder infection?

Re: Painful urination normal after colon surgery?

Sounds like it. I just had colon surgery with no urinary issues.

What stool softener did your doctor tell you to take? There are some laxatives like senna & aloe that make your colon black. Mine was a black in two areas. He told me to continue to just take psyllium for the constipation.
