How long does gastroenteritis usually last?

So, I went to the hospital the night that I posted my last thread and the doctors diagnosed me with gastroenteritis. They prescribed me with an anti-nausea, an anti-diarrhea and an antibiotic. The only one I've filled out was the anti-nausea, since the pharmacist told me that I could get the antibiotic for free at a local grocery store and I didn't realize that the pharmacy would be closed on the weekend.

Anyway, I was wondering how long gastroenteritis should usually last. I've been trying to look it up, but I keep finding different opinions on it, i.e., 3 days, 4 days, 7, 10, 14 and so on.

So, it's been 6 days now, and the diarrhea stopped a couple of days ago, but the nausea is still hanging around. I don't have a fever or anything else anymore (had a sore throat and irritable sinuses for the first few days, but those quickly cleared up).

Any ideas? I'm sick of hanging around and not being able to properly eat anything.
