Disability & Unemployment?

I've been on disability for almost a year now, but that was not enough to pay my bills (rent, car, etc). So, I found a small, part time job where I was able to work from home a few hours a week and this let me supplement my income.
Am I allowed to file for unemployment for these wages lost? I'm not sure, as I did as the California disability office (several times now) and Have received no response. 7 weeks, later, and I can barely put food on the table.
Should I just assume that I do not qualify, and that is that?
Any direction is greatly appreciated.

Re: Disability & Unemployment?

Each state is different...in NJ, you cannot file for both disability and unemployment. I really do not know about California. Can you call and ask? I know its next to impossible to get through in my state...but with PAC- the new program, you very well might need to talk to someone to find out.

Do you have an office of disabilities person you can speak with? That might get you through faster!

Wish I had more info for you..
Good luck!
