What do you wear to a disability hearing

My lawyer said to dress respectfully. . . doesnt need to be "Sunday Best" dress clothes, but no pajamas or sweat pants. I just wore a pair of black pants and a plain white shirt. Oh lawyer also said to keep the jewelry to a minimum - dont want the judge to think that you dont NEED the money....not like that would make or break the case. If you are comfortable going out without makeup - thats probably best. I went without only because I knew I would end up crying and didnt want the makeup running down my face.

I would agree....Strongly. Dress respectfully, but not overdone.

I agree, nothing fancy. My hearing last 15 minutes at the most. Good luck

My Lawyer told me not to dress up and to wear whatever is comfortable. I wore sweatpants and a long sleeved shirt. He said that if we can take the time to dress nice then we are going to leave the wrong impression. I didn't look sloppy, but I have a hard enough time just slipping on my pj's that I wear around the house. I'm certainly not going to make things harder on me by thinking I need to impress someone. We are not going to the usual type of court were dressing does count.
